Microsoft Access Database (MDB) files are database files created in Microsoft Access that contain database components including tables, triggers, forms, stored procedures, queries, reports and more. MDB files can be damaged due to application malfunctioning, bad sectors in the hard drive, virus infection, improper system shutdown and more. Some common error messages that you receive after the MDB file has been corrupted are as follows:
- "The Microsoft Jet Database Engine cannot open the file"
- "The database needs to be repaired or its not a Microsoft Access file"
